in north carolina, we call that an intermittent stream...
This is where we walk when it's too hot in the middle of the day to walk closer to home. And, yes, it is an intermittent stream, which is the only kind we have around here. Ever seen the Rio Grand? Not so grand. :-)
One man's intermittent stream is another man's river.
is that a snake on the left hand side or just a stick that bends oddly?
Just a stick. Don't scare me like that! I've seen snakes in these parts, and I'm sure I've come close to ones I didn't notice. Yikes!
